Paraders Grant Program

History and Photo Gallery

The Parader’s Grant was established by the CSHA State Parade Program in 1992. While the
original concept was to award a grant to an organization that provided a “parade experience” for
their handicapped riders, today the “parade experience” requirement has been dropped and we
look for an organization that provides an on-going riding program for physically and mentally
handicapped people in the State of California. Affiliation with CSHA is not required.
The exact amount of the grant is determined yearly based on the funds raised by the Parade
Committee and may be used for any purpose related directly to the organization’s work in this
field.
Over the years, under the guidance of Peggy and Harry Narducci, funds have been raised by the
Parade Program and donated to worthy groups. Following the passing of Peggy and Harry, the
Parade Program has continued funding the Paraders’ Gant in their memory. There are many
people who need our help. It is gratifying to know that there are so many horses and people who
are willing to spend the time and effort to help these individuals. We owe them a debt of
gratitude. The Paraders’ Grant is a wonderful way that all of us can help.
Please spread the word to your relatives, neighbors, friends and business associates. A donation
of any size would be welcome to assist in keeping this grant program going. Checks should be
made payable to California State Horsemen’s Association – Paraders’ Grant. Donations are tax
deductible, there are no administrative costs deducted and all funds collected are donated as
grants.
If you would like to nominate an organization to receive the Paraders’ Grant, complete and
submit the nomination form on this web site. All nominations must be postmarked no later than
August 25 and received at the designated address no later than August 30 each year. Each
person nominating an organization will be sent notification regarding the name of the grant
winner.
Please use application on this web site and refer to the current CSHA Rule Book, Parade
Program, Section 15.0 Parader’s Grant for full details regarding this grant.
