The CSHA Royal Court represents and promotes Region 5 and CSHA at various functions.
The Miss CSHA and Ambassador positions are for ladies and gentlemen between 14 – 17 years of age. Junior Miss CSHA and Junior Ambassador are for those between 10 – 13. Little Miss CSHA and Little Ambassador for those between 6 – 9 years of age.
Awards include silver buckles to all winners, tiara and sashes to the ladies, and silver hatbands and trophy jackets to the gentlemen. In addition, those selected for these positions are awarded a $300.00 scholarship for future educational use and are eligible to compete for the State positions at the State Championship Show in October for additional awards.
This is not a beauty contest! The contestants are judged on appearance, personality, poise, speaking ability, equitation and a written test.
Poise, personality, appearance and speaking ability are judged together at a suitable function at which the contestants are interviewed by the judges and give a prepared speech. The topic for the speech is chosen in advance.
Equitation is judged during a riding test which consists of a compulsory pattern which is provided in advance.
The written test contains questions pertaining to basic knowledge of CSHA and general horsemanship. The questions are taken from the last published CSHA Bylaws & Rule Book, and the CSHA Horseman’s Handbook. The test also contains appropriate etiquette questions.
Qualifications for the Region 5 Scholarship are subject to the stipulations and rules of the CSHA Charitable Trust. Contact the Region Royalty Chairman or Charitable Trustee for details.
