SCHOLARSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT
WE HAVE A WINNER!
The Trustees of the California State Horsemen’s Association Charitable Trust are pleased to announce that Callie Meeder of Davis was the winner of the 2014 CSHA U. C. Davis Veterinary Scholarship. Callie has maintained a 3.676 grade point average, won the Roy Grant Scholarship, CVMA Award for Practice Excellence and is and was awarded life membership in the California Scholarship Federation. In addition, she made both the Dean’s List and the President’s List while earning an undergraduate degree in Animal Science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. While at Davis, Callie’s emphasis/areas of interest have been equine internal medicine, equine lameness and sports medicine.
Prior to college Callie competed on the hunter/jumper circuit. With studies taking more of her time, she has slowed down a bit and now enjoys horseback riding for fun and spending time with family, friends and her two dogs.
Next year Callie begins a one year equine internship at the Bend Equine Medical Center and hopes to complete a residency in large animal internal medicine. It is Callie’s hope that she will be able to contribute to the profession by bettering the lives of horses and by doing help the owners that love them further develop the human-animal bond.
